swedish berries and boys

Well, it's time for an update. This past week has been a busy one. Last tuesday we had a special guest appearance from Angelle who was out doing a tour promoting her camp Bird River. It was good to see her again, I hadn't seen her since the last time she went out on this tour. We had a splendid night of touring the sites, walking the town and seeing scary art of randomly stacked chairs with nooses interspersed. On thursday right after my last class we headed out to Edmonton for a basketball tournament that Bethany (which Chris coaches) was in. Me in a van with 13 boys. Lovely. Actually it wasn't too bad or very eventful until the last hour where we got to see a giant egg and were swerving on the road because of the massive gusts of wind. I just thought the guy driving was a really bad driver but I guess he had an excuse. We got into Edmonton around 9pm and after getting told we were in the wrong building and finally finding our real building we watched some basketball and went to bed. For some reason it was really hot in our room so we closed the vent but that was the wrong decision because this made our room smell like toilet cleaner. I figured out the next morning that opening the vent made the smell go away. On friday I watched the boys play a good game that they ended up losing. We went to the West Ed Mall in between games and I finally found a pair of pants that fit people without stick figures. We got to see the sea lion show, that was pretty exciting, my favorite part was the little penguin that waddled around, he was cute. After the mall they had another game and Jen showed up to watch with me. Then I escaped the boys dorm and spent the night with Jen. We had a pretty normal night, bought some groceries, amazingly found a white spot and rented the Lake House and ate swedish berries and m & m's. We watched the Lake House on Jen's laptop and it was on the highest volume possible but we could barely hear it. Not the best way to watch a movie. Some parts were hard to know what they said but I think I got the jist of it. Here's some pics of our hangout time.

We had an eventful time trying to fill up my air mattress and not letting it all deflate before we plugged it up. Jen, I think Chris figured out our problem, once you get the big plug in, there's a little opening in that plug that you can put the air thing into to top off the firmness of the mattress. If that makes sense. Anyways, I slept and it didn't completely deflate overnight so it was all good. The next day we had some blueberry bagels together and I got Jen addicted to soduko's, another one joins the club. Then we toured around downtown Edmonton and the University because I had never seen either and we stopped by Ikea but didn't buy anything cause there's just too much to pick from. We went back to see the boys last game and Jen, you missed an intense ending. The boys were up by 3 and the other team scored a 3 in the last seconds so it went into overtime. Then the other team only had 3 guys left for the last minute or so and our team won by 2. Intense I tell ya. So it was good that they won one game and it was a gooder. Then we waited for the girls team to win the whole thing and we headed home that night. We didn't get home until 4:30am and so I slept until 2 in the afternoon. Not good for sleeping habits. Sunday was pretty much a write off, we just lazed around and did not much worth talking about. So that's what's been going on. We have our reading break coming up in a few weeks and are looking forward to seeing baby brother Ryan who's coming home from Capes for a few days and are also hoping to go to Calgary for the second part of our break to see some dear friends and snowboard if there's snow. Hopefully those plans will get finalized some time this week. Other than that, not much to report. If anyone has a bright idea of a blogging topic for me let me know because I seem to lack writing about stuff if nothing exciting is happening. Kay peace out.

wow. that ending does sound intense. I wish i could have seen the rest of that game. good for those bethany boys. they worked hard!! I think i know what you are talking about with the air mattress. But I won't be pulling it out anytime soon to try it...just too much of a pain to put away all by my lonesome! Those pics turned out good! I'm glad you came out with the boys. :)
