Chris and I just spent a week out in Herbert for Kevin and Alysha's wedding. We've been home for a few days now getting our apartment all together and hooking things up like a phone and such. Things are pretty much complete in our new place but the next blog will be about that.
So we arrived into Saskatoon last monday and drove down Chris' aunt and uncles extra car into Herbert. One of the first things we did when we got home was we went and combined for a few good hours. It was actually pretty fun, except I didn't get to drive, that would've been more fun. We relaxed the first few days but once Wednesday came along things started getting busy. We met Kevin in Swift Current after he got off work and the boys tried on their tuxes. Check out the multi-angle of Ryan in his tux.

Thursday was spent decorating the reception hall and setting up our slideshow stuff so it was all ready to go on the wedding day. We had a small break after that and then it was off to the rehearsal at the church which seemed to go smoothly. Chris was hit hard by a flu that night but he was good and drugged up the day of the wedding so he survived. We were all spoiled with gifts from Kev and Alysha at the rehearsal supper but most the attention was on the disney bubble blowers that the ring bearer and flower girl got. Just look at how fascinated baby Jake is at the bubbles...

Friday was the day of the wedding. Most of us slept in that day except for Chris and his dad who went back to the reception hall to make sure the projector was all good to go and cords were tapped down so no one would trip on them. I took pictures of the boys getting ready and here's a little sample of their calendar pose for the Herbert fire fighter edition.

The wedding was really great, it was short and sweet and they used the disney bubble blowers from the balcony as they walked out which was pretty cool. They said their I-do's, they kissed and they got married. The only thing was, it was hot, I don't know how those guys in tuxes survived but no one passed out so all in all it was a success.

At the reception, Chris and I were the MC's, there's no pictures of proof but it's true. I wasn't so sure how it would go but I'd say it went pretty smoothly and people enjoyed themselves. We had some good entertainment by Alysha's cousins and Andrew and Colin and of course Chris and Ryan sang a song Johnny Cash style. That night Kev and Alysha left for their camping honeymoon, although the first night was spent in Swift Current at the good ol' Best Western. They're still out there somewhere camping in the Rockies.

The Masters of the Ceremony
The last couple days spent in Herbert we partied with both sides of the family. On saturday we went to the Herbert parade in the morning and then we played a baseball game with all the Brauns and Colin took a good one to the nose off the pitching mound. Then we had some lunch and the boys (and Lindsay and Saunja) played some football while I took some action shots. To top it all off they went swimming after which I think put it over the top for Chris because when we went to the Falks for supper later that evening he was wrapped in a blanket on the couch sleeping. The next day we just relaxed at home and the Willms stopped by on their way back to Saskatoon and us kids watched Iron Will, yeah good times. Chris got struck bad by the flu again before we left for the Falks that evening and so he stayed home and ended up throwing up but he came by later on that night for a bit. We sat around the fire looking for stars which I could not find for the longest time and Chris got massive mosquito bites from that night.

Gotta end off a busy week with some football
The next day we said bye to Ryan who was leaving for two weeks of camp and then we hung out until we got our ride to Saskatoon. We got a ride back with Chris' aunt and uncle and we stayed at the Willms' house that night. Me and the boys played some ticket to ride and let's just say the boys were a little out of sorts. Both Chris and Andrew were feeling flu-ish and were drugged up, it was definitely interesting. The next morning we had to wake up at 5am to catch out flight and even with our internet check-in we just made our flight because we had to wait in a huge line at the security check in. I don't think they would've forgotten about us anyway. But we were definitely still in line when they were boarding the plane.
So now we've been home setting up our place and making it feel more like a home with no boxes on the floors and pictures on the walls. I think this post is long enough for now so you'll just have to wait until I take some pictures of our place and I put it on the next post.
