Some other things we've been up to is joining a small group in our church. We've started meeting with two other couples (who have 2 and 4 kids under the age of 5) and are going through the book of John. It's been really great to get together with them and to connect. Also, we're getting to know them better which is great because they're fun people. One of the guys actually graduated with me so that's kinda strange how that worked out.
Last sunday afternoon we headed to Mike and Sarah's for a pumpkin carving party. We also had to give their new Nintendo Wii a whirl, it's pretty tricky I must admit, especially baseball, I don't think I hit one pitch. We had a good time making some creative carvings, Chris decided to stick to his roots and make a Saskatchewan Roughriders logo, while I on the other hand had my work cut out for me with my spooky tree idea. I decided to scrape my pumpkin instead of carve pieces out of it. The end result would be a glow through the skin that I scraped away, leaving a sunset effect. It ended up working out but it took much longer than anyone else to carve their pumpkin. Maybe I won't try that again.

This week has been my busiest week of PDP by far. On monday I taught my first lesson, it was in spelling. That wasn't too bad. Yesterday I did some math on converting decimals to fractions, that was a little bit tougher. And today I did a lesson on a story that the students had to recreate using their own ideas. Today I got observed by my Faculty Associate, who is basically my professor for PDP. He said that the lesson was excellent and there were many good things that he had to say about it so I was happy with that. Besides teaching, I've been arranging when my next observations will be, thinking of an idea and time to do a mini-unit and writing my mid term which is on friday where I meet with my teacher and FA to talk about how I've been doing. So there's a lot to think about all at once but I think I've got it under control for now, which is why I can write this blog without stressing out.
So that's what we've been up to, busy but doing well and having fun, until the next time I have some free time...
