Another one bites the dust

Well, Chris and I are officially out of the limelight as the newly married couple in our family. Kevin proposed to Alysha last night and she said yes! And so the wedding plans begin. It was about -35 last night with windchill and so kevin's plan of going ice skating didn't quite work out because when they got there it was closed and covered in snow so he took her for a walk which I'm guessing was pretty short and that was that. Before this big event happened we had a little family gathering for Chris' grandpa's 75th birthday. We played a rousing game of buzz word which the men won, only because they had easy words, or they cheated. Of course. Chris' parents made the trip up not only for the birthday but also to be there for the big proposal night. Yes, it's been a weekend filled of special events. Tonight was the superbowl and Kevin and Alysha were over to watch. It was a pretty good game to watch, even though it was Ryan's team that won.

Okay so I'm going to take over now because Vicky is talking to her mom on the phone. For the exciting news which they are talking about check out Jamie or Paul's blog. Oh and I realized that Vicky said ice skating in the above paragraph. She should realize by now that ice skating is just called skating here so she doesn't need to be so specific. Hmm, what can I tell you from my point of view. Things are a bit stressful because according to everyone at school I should be applying for all these teaching jobs already and we really don't know what or where we want to be and yeah it just a whole new thing. We'd like to go to BC but I don't know how many jobs are out there and I know that getting a job here, at least in a small rural place wouldn't be hard. And then there is the plan to go overseas but it seems to be getting smaller because of all these weddings we want to be at. Anyhow, I guess its just one of those things we have to trust God with and ride it out eh. Yep. Its pretty nice to know that someone knows how it will all work out and that we don't need to worry.

Anyways enough about my worries. What else can we say wicky? She contemplates while biting her nails which are already non existent because she always bites them. That girl and her bad habits. So I'm reading this book called Searching For God Knows What. Its pretty rad. Its by Donald Miller. I really like his point of view on being a Christian and all that. Check it out. I think Vicky thinks that this is getting a bit long but I know you all love hearing from me. So I guess I'll go now. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

The love birds with Chris desperately wanting to be in the picture

Hey Apes, this time they really are engaged.

I don't understand this picture.

This one's for Ryan "Roary".

Great news!!! I feel so special that you wrote a little side note to me too. That's so nice.

Hey, I don't know what the name of that game that the boys were playing. It is some sort of axis & allies game but without dice. So strategy instead of luck wins the game.

You guys should get Carcassonne cities & knights though. Plus you should move to BC. Vancouver Island to be exact.

Hey guys! You may be out of the limelight as the newly married couple, but there is one way you can get back in...you know what we're talking about...yep...you're right...if you wait too long, Kevin and Alysha might figure it out before you.

Anyway, it's too bad we never saw you at Christmas. It was good to be in Herbert again. Wish Kevin and Alysha a huge congratulations from us.

Take care,
Your cousins Pam, Cam & Kaiden
