Adventures in the Sun

We're back into the swing of things with school starting and enjoyed the last couple of nice days before this week began. A few weekends ago we headed out to Vancouver to exchange Chris' hiking boots and then headed to the Sea Wall to walk around. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the view of the city. We saw some totem poles, float planes, squirrels, and lots of other people walking around. Molly enjoyed being the daredevil that she is by walking along the edge of the Sea Wall. On our way out of the city we stopped by the lookout of the Lions Gate bridge and even saw a whale blowing water out in the open ocean.

Last week we enjoyed one last really hot day and hiked up to Lindeman Lake. It was our first hike in both of our hiking boots and I'd say they stood the test. Especially mine since I fell in the lake trying to hop on a rock to get to a log. We had a good time at the beach climbing on logs and getting Molly in the water. Then we hiked to the far side of the lake (in my soggy boots) and climbed over big rocks which Molly got a little bit scared of but did really well on the way back. We enjoyed the sun on a rock, took some pictures and then headed back home.

School has officially been in session for three days now. I haven't got called to TOC yet but I didn't really expect to in the first week. I'm spending my time sanding the walls in our guest bedroom so I can finally paint it after taking a good 8 month break from renos. We're also going to paint the basement so then our whole house will be done the way we want it. Better get back to work so that actually happens.
