Adventures at Christmas Time

We made it back safe and sound from our trip out to Saskatchewan. Let's start from the beginning. Chris ended school on the 19th, then on the 20th I had a wedding shoot in probably one of the lowest temperatures we've had all winter. But I got on the front page of the local newspaper because of it so that was pretty cool. On the 21st we went to my parents and had Christmas with them and my brother. Chris got a new camera which he was very pleased with and I got a bunch of new teacher clothes. On the 22nd my brother drove us into Vancouver for our flight. It had snowed the night before and we saw about 10 cars in the ditch on the way there. The airport was nuts, we stood in a mile long line to get our bags checked and had to wait 6 hours before our plane actually left. We were lucky that our flight didn't get cancelled because probably every other flight did. Some people had already been waiting in the airport for two days. Once we got to Edmonton we were stranded. We had missed our connection to Regina and there wasn't another flight until 5:30pm the next day which we might have had a chance of getting on with stand-by but it looked doubtful. We decided to rent a car and drive to Calgary and stay the night with our friends Dustin and Rebekah. Then we drove to Medicine Hat the next day where Chris' dad picked us up and drove us home. So we made it home one day late but we got there a lot earlier than we would've if we had stayed at the airport. We had a good time at the farm, playing lots of Wii, cross-country skiing, me doing puzzles and Chris branding cows. We had the Braun gathering on the 27th and 28th which involved hours of basketball for the guys and lots of games and food for the rest of us. It was great to see everybody again. We even got to see Colin and Andrew even though they were in Hawaii. They texted Ryan and told us to look up this website that showed a webcam in Hawaii and we got to watch them on the streets of Honolulu, it was pretty funny. Our trip home was much smoother; no delays, no connections and no snow. Since we've been home we cleaned up all our Christmas stuff, bought a new 40" Samsung TV, had a new year's party at Mike and Sarah's and used one of our movie passes to see the Curious Case of Benjamin Button. We both start school this monday and then it's back to the grind. It's going to be a very busy next couple months with Chris still coaching and with me doing my long practicum. I don't know if I'm quite ready for it but I guess I'll find out pretty soon.
