Back in the Wack

Yup so I thought I was clever making seperate sections for the Christmas' we had but this is the latest one that happened so you have to scan down and read the other two first and it'll make more sense...

We spent the rest of our break out in Chilliwack until the day before school started. We got to see lots of people that we really wanted to see and hadn't seen for a long time. It was good to be out there again and see all those people. We started the time off with a friendly visit from Jamie, Paul and Jen, it was brief because we were still on Saskatchewan time but we got to see them the next day at "Christmas supper". The morning after we opened presents and got some nice clothes and basically our whole set of Denby dishes that we thought would slowly be collected but instead my mom went nuts and bought them all. We won't be using those for a while but it's good to have them. That day we briefly went to the mall and exchanged some of the clothes that didn't fit and then that night my brother, Jamie, Paul and Jen came over for supper. Instead of the traditional rice pudding we had ice cream cake. Chris and my mom hid some nuts in it so whoever got one won a prize. It was pretty obvious where they were because the icing was all messed up in that spot. For some reason though Chris and I were the only ones who found them. After supper we played some scattegories and pictionary. Jen and I were on a team for pictionary and didn't even get on the board until the others were at the second last space. But then we kicked their butts and made it half way up the board. Yeah, we almost had an amazing comeback. Next time...We also tried some of my parents liquers.

Some othe stuff we did while out in BC were walking Willy, taking a drive to the lake and up in the Columbia Valley, playing dice with my mom, watching some movies... One night we got to see David, who is my friend who went to Capes with me but we haven't seen each other for years because he lives in Australia. He's living out in BC now though because he just got engaged to Karin who went to Capes with Chris. It was really good to be able to see them in the short time that we were out there.

On Sunday we went to Mark's church in Abbotsford and picked up Jeremy from the airport. It worked out perfectly because we didn't think we were going to be able to see him. We went for a nice little hike through some paths by Mark's house and played some pool. While we were on our way back from our hike we randomly saw that same Capernwray guy that we had seen while we were out with David and Karin, how weird is that? Anyways, it was good to see those boys again. Mark was one of our last friends that lived out here in Saskatoon and now we have none... Just kidding, kay maybe not that much. That night we spent at home instead of partying for new years.

The last night we were in BC we headed out to Coquitlam to see Eric, Carmen and Mike. We went out for supper at ABC and played some taboo and the boys played darts. It was a nice relaxing night of festivities.

It was so good to be back home even if it was a short time. We headed home the next afternoon and made it home not that much later then we were supposed. Of course we couldn't avoid some sort of delay as we waited 45 minutes for our bags in Saskatoon. But we made it and now we're back to school. We took Tom out of our place to be recycled, it was a sad moment. We stocked up on groceries, cleaned up our place and now we're ready to go for another semester. It's nice to have Chris at home everyday, makes things more interesting and more normal. Well, I've been writing for a while now so I'll end it here.

A Happy Herbert Christmas

I ended exams on the 22nd and Kevin and I drove to Herbert. Chris came later because he had to teach that day until 3. The first couple days we had the Braun gathering and it was a good time of playing games and eating lots of food. We had 11 people in the house for two nights so that was fun. All the single boys slept in the family room, Janette slept in Ryan's room and we slept in the basement. One morning I woke up before all the boys so I could shower and this is what I saw...

You can tell these boys are in Bible school. Colin had his own air mattress but decided to sleep on the same twin mattress as Ryan to stay warm. I thought it was pretty funny.

After everyone woke up we went to the church and spent the whole day playing games and we also went to the school gym for a bit to play some basketball and volleyball. After Christmas Dinner we had a chinese gift exchange and Chris and I got a puzzle, which was not quite his choice but I enjoyed making it the rest of the days there. Some people got some pretty funny presents like Curtis getting a willow tree angel figurine. Well, I guess that's not a funny present, it's just funny that he was the one who got it. Janette was actually at the same Christmas as me, which is wierd because it seems that we always miss the year that each other are there so it was good to have another girls around to balance with all the testosterone.

The rest of the time out there we spent relaxing on the farm, playing games, tubing and even some good ol' cross country skiing. We opened presents on Christmas Eve after we went to church. First we had some finger food which was really good. On Christmas I got to drive the quad as Chris and Ryan rode the tube. We had some good turkey for supper and the whole family had a half hour nap after. That was pretty funny. I guess the turkey knocked us out. Alysha came only 5 minutes after we woke up, it would've been pretty funny is she had shown up when the house was pitch black. We played a game that Ryan got me for Christmas and then we watched Invicible. The next day I hurt Chris when he was tubing so Ryan, Kevin and I stayed out for a bit. The last full day we found the old family cross country skis and we did some hardcore skiing on the yard. It was actually a lot easier then when I remember doing it when I was ten on the sidewalks.

We left Herbert the morning of the 27th and had a full day of delays and waiting in airports becuase of a blizzard in Calgary. We eventually made it to Chilliwack at around 10pm that night although we were supposed to get there at 7pm. At least we got there...

First Christmas

Now that things have gotten somewhat back to normal I figured it was time to get back in blogging. Sorry for all of you who desperately checked everyday hoping for something new. I hate when that happens. But today is your lucky day. There's lots to say and many pictures to post so hopefully blogger lets me.

Chris and I had our own little christmas here in Saskatoon the weekend before we left for Herbert. We opened presents by the tree and had a splendid breakfast. I ordered Chris the three Harry Potter books that he was missing from his collection. He was happy to get those and in fact is reading one of them now. He stayed up until 2 am last night finishing one. What a weirdo. I guess he likes them. Chris got me some satsuma body wash and lotion, I love that stuff, it smells so good. I also got a Stuart McLean short story book, they're really witty short stories and every now and then we have story time before bed. I also got a necklace but I had to return it because it was a little too big for my liking. All in all it was a good first Christmas as a married couple. Here's a few shots from that day...
