A couple days later Danny and Amber came over for some fun. Amber had the idea of swimming in a body of water so we went to the lake. I however was smart and did not go swimming and did not freeze my butt of like the rest of them. We stopped to get some ice cream on the way back and it was very scrumptious. We played many games such as Peaknuckle and Settlers. Danny stayed the night because he had a big date the next day. He might just be having some luck on finding a wife after all.
This past weekend we went out to the Shuswap with a bunch of friends to Jamie's family's cabin. The first day there we had some sun so we went to the beach and swam around but a few hours after that we saw huge dark clouds coming in so we decided to pack it up. We were able to get a good campfire in that night and play outside for a bit but the next day it basically rained all day. We huddled up in the cabin for most of the day but there was a small glimpse of hope where it stopped raining so we all went out for a breather. Once we got to the park we were going to it started raining again but that didn't stop us hard core bocce players. By the end of bocce we were all getting damp so we decided to play some football which is where we totally got drenched but I'm proud to say that my team won after coming up from behind. Since we were completely soaked after football it didn't seem to matter that we go swimming in our clothes so that's what we did. It was so warm to be in the lake. Wearing sweat pants in the lake was not that enjoyable but it was still fun. The rest of that day was spent playing many rounds of ticket to ride and dutch blitz and watching a movie. All of us left the next day except for Jamie and Ben. I had an interview when I got back for being a teacher's aid at a Christian school but it ends up that even though my interview went good they decided to not hire anyone and instead were just going to shuffle their staff around and use people they had already. That sort of sucked to find out because I was really hoping for that job to give me classroom experience so right now things are all up in the air again. I've applied for a few jobs at UCFV so hopefully something will come up there soon.
The day we got back we had some steak at the rents and then we all brought over the corner cabinet my dad made for us. We unloaded all the Denby dishes and organized them in the cabinet and it looks really good. Now our apartment is complete. Thanks Dad!
