We had one more weekend before I had to start taking injections for IVF (more on that later) so we decided to make the best of it and headed up to Whistler for two nights. We actually stayed in Squamish at a great hotel that has a bunch of suites with full kitchens. On Saturday we went snowboarding and I enjoyed it quite a bit more than the last time. We went on runs that were more for my confidence level so it was much better. I did wipe out good once and tweaked my neck, I don't even know how it happened, it was on a silly little hill where I wasn't even going that fast. It didn't affect me too much so we got a good amount of boarding in. Once we were done, we changed in the car and then headed into the village and checked out some shops before getting supper at Earls. Then we headed back to our room in Squamish and relaxed in the hot tub and watched part of the movie we had brought but I couldn't last because my cold was getting much worse and I was exhausted. The next morning my cold was at its worst and I was feeling very out of it so we made brunch and then made our way home. It was a great little get away, just wish I would've been feeling a bit better.
This past weekend was family day so we wanted to get out and do something, especially since the sun was shining. On Sunday we went to Chilliwack Lake hoping there would be enough snow to use our snowshoes but there wasn't so we just walked around the lake and enjoyed the sun. Molly loved running on the beach and sniffing everything she possibly could. The next day, on family day, we went to Manning Park with Ryan, Cheryl and Rayna and enjoyed a day of cross-country skiing. I figured out the technique for hills better by the end but definitely did not master going up and down hills. The parts that I could do were fun though. We skied for about 11km, stopped at a hut for lunch, got some pictures along the way and hung out in the lodge for a little while before driving home. Rayna was all tucked into the sled the whole time and she seemed to love every minute of it, such a little trooper.
